Alyssa & Anthony

Alyssa is one of those rare gems whose heart is made of gold. She is not only beautiful on the outside but is truly beautiful on the inside. She is strong and courageous and loyal and kind and just genuinely sweet. She’s the real deal. Anthony is a lucky man! I don’t know Anthony other than he’s Alyssa’s boyfriend but I could see why she chose him. He seems as sweet as she is. Although he’s a football player and probably won’t love being called sweet. 🙂

While I’m at it, if you’re in need of an aesthetician, Alyssa is the one to see! She’ll care for you with gentle hands and a warm smile. Give her a call at Salon Cara Mia in Pointe-Claire, to book an appointment. You won’t regret it! 514-426-6397

If you’d like to book a session of your own, please shoot me an email at or call me at 514-771-4663

Feel free to leave a comment and please share this post. 🙂

…be your own kind of beautiful…

xoxo Wendy

Shawn & Cassie – A Love Story…

High school sweethearts with a temporary bump in the road, Shawn and Cassie finally got it right.   10 years after their story rekindled, Shawn first asked Cassie’s parents for their blessing and then got down on one knee and proposed to his girl.  I love an old fashioned, proper proposal!  Please read on for a small glimpse into their love story…

Remember those high school parties where boy sees girl, thinks she’s pretty cute so he messages her the following day?  Yeah, me neither, there was no such thing as texts or Facebook messages back in my day.  The boy called the girl on the house phone that was attached to the wall and most likely had to go through mom or dad and 10 questions about intentions before MAYBE being able to talk to his new crush.  But that was then and this is now.  🙂

So that’s how it started for Shawn and Cassie.  He saw this girl at a high school party and thought she was pretty cute.  After asking his cousin about her, he got the courage to message her the following day and a few weeks later they were officially dating.  However as the story goes, boy and girl break up because they don’t really know what they want at that age, but, they remained friends.  Good thing because they rekindled their romance 2 years later in college and have been together and in love ever since.  Gotta love a good love story!  And this is just the beginning!  At this time next year they’ll have said I do and will have started their new life together as husband and wife.  Then maybe some babies? …

But wait!  There’s more.  Can you believe that their lives were entwined since before they were born?  Yup!  Cassie’s dad and Shawn’s uncle were close longtime friends!  Their families knew each other.  As a child Cassie played with his cousins although can’t remember if she and Shawn ever played together.  How crazy is that?!?  Talk about a small world!

Please join me in congratulating this newly engaged couple.  And for those of you who have been married forever, please share some good advice.  What’s the key to staying in love?

Well, as I am married for 24 yrs to my high school sweetheart, I can tell you that I think the secret is believing that “love” is a verb. Actions, day in and day out, not a “feeling” we are in or out of. The secret is to never stop showing it by the simple things we do daily that show the other person we are still INVESTED in the relationship. The opposite of love is not hate… it is indifference. The minute we take what we have for granted and stop showing our partners that we care about their well being and happiness, is when the relationship stops working. Its really that simple and yet in our busy, daily lives full of outside pressures, it is often the first thing we forget to pay attention to. Love isn’t the things we say, it is the things we do… every single day.ReplyCancel

Well said Jodi Miller! I’ve been married for 21 years and you are so right, we need to make a conscious choice to love every day. Even when we don’t feel like it.

      Thanks for sharing! 🙂ReplyCancel
